Good machinery, if properly maintained, could work for a very long time and bring profit to its owners. We are convinced of this every day, supplying advanced agricultural equipment to the village. The exhibits of our museum collection serve as proof. All of them are in working order and ready to go out into the field at any moment, despite their impressive age.
Today in our collection includes 29 tractors, 2 steam engines, a thresher, units for tillage, seeding and fertilizing, as well as 12 cars, repair equipment, tools and household items.
The oldest exhibit in our agricultural machinery museum is a steam engine by Richard Garrett and Sons. It was manufactured in Leiston, Suffolk in 1910. The serial number, 28689, indicates the large scale of production and wide demand far beyond England.
The machine is a steam engine with a capacity of 15 HP (steam pressure in the boiler is 8 kg/cm2). It was delivered to the work site by horses or a tractor. The external drive is designed to connect stationary devices — a thresher, dynamo, pump, mills. Energy is transmitted by belt traction. The unit was even used for plowing. Installed at the edge of the field, it dragged the plow from the opposite side with the help of a rope.
